DVC Exclusive: Wicked Wind Down at the Top of the World Lounge - A Villains Lair

I recently had the opportunity to experience the Wicked Wind Down at the Top of the World Lounge – A Villains Lair, and unfortunately, it was a rather disappointing experience. As a long-time Disney fan, I was excited to visit this themed lounge, but I found that there was little to no theming in the restaurant. The ambiance was lacking, and it didn't quite live up to the immersive experience I had hoped for.

One of the major letdowns was the service, which was exceptionally slow. I waited a frustrating 40 minutes for a glass of wine, which really put a damper on the evening. To make matters worse, our food was delivered during the fireworks, which are viewed in a separate area outside. By the time we returned to our table, the food was cold and unappetizing. It would have been a shame to miss out on the fireworks display to be able enjoy our meal while it was warm.

Speaking of the fireworks, there is an exceptionally tall wall that made it impossible for my kids, aged 9 and 11, to see much of anything. This was a huge disappointment for them, as they were looking forward to the magical Disney fireworks experience.

On a positive note, Disney did send a survey specifically about the experience, so hopefully they are aware of the issues and are working to make improvements. I appreciate that they are seeking feedback and hope that they will take steps to address the shortcomings of the Wicked Wind Down experience.

Overall, I was disappointed with my visit to the Top of the World Lounge – A Villains Lair. While Disney is known for its exceptional guest experiences, this particular outing fell short of expectations. I remain hopeful that Disney will take the necessary steps to enhance the Wicked Wind Down experience for future guests.
